The beginning of the year
has been tough, but we've finally reached the desired Easter holidays, a time
to be with our family and friends but also to relax with a good book like La templanza by Maria Dueñas.
After the success of
Mission The Heart has it’s reasons, and above all, Seamstress,
the novel that marked a turning point in the career of the writer, Dueñas takes
us from America to Spain, from Mexico, independent at the time, to the Cuba
dominated by the Spaniards to finish in the Iberian Peninsula itself,
specifically in Jerez, a place marked by the wine. In all these trips, we
follow the protagonist of the novel and his complex but beautiful story, which
has many defeats, but also some victories.
Dueñas used in this novel
the usual elements in her writing, which enabled her to become one of the best
writers of the current Spanish literary scene. The reader will find an agile
narrative, full of action and surprises, dark characters marked by their past, but
eager to love and environments that dazzle us throughout the novel.

plagada de acción y sorpresas, personajes oscuros marcados por su pasado, pero
con ganas de amar y ambientes que nos embaucarán a lo largo de toda la novela.
