On February 25 began the 34th edition of ARCO, one of
the most important fairs in the international art scene, which takes place at
IFEMA, Madrid.
These 34 editions of ARCO have exhibited works of
extraordinary quality, but whose artistic value has been questioned many times.
The reason is simple: if anything characterizes ARCO is precisely that leaves
no one indifferent. However, since its creation in 1986 under the direction of
the gallerist Juana de Aizpuru, ARCO has achieved something fundamental: that
the public accepts contemporary art in its various forms. Therefore, we have
forgotten the phrase "this is art?".
They have accomplished many things, but this fair has
even higher goals. ARCO wants to keep growing to become the meeting point
between Europe and Latin America. Therefore, not only 47 of the 218 galleries
are Latin American, but also the guest of this edition, Colombia, will have 100
authors and 20 exhibitions in different locations.

El pasado
miércoles empezó en el recinto ferial de IFEMA la 34ª edición de ARCO, una de
las ferias más importantes del panorama artístico internacional.
Estas 34
ediciones de ARCO han recogido tantas obras de extraordinaria calidad, como
críticas cuestionando el valor artístico de estas. Y es que si algo caracteriza
a ARCO es precisamente que no deja indiferente a nadie. No obstante, desde su
creación en 1986 bajo la dirección de la galerista Juana de Aizpuru, ARCO ha
tenido como misión fundamental acercar las diferentes formas artísticas
contemporáneas al gran público, consiguiendo condenar al olvido la frase “¿y
eso es arte?”.
Con esta carácter
innovador que le hace sobresalir entre las más de 220 ferias artísticas que hay
cada año, ARCO tiene el objetivo de seguir creciendo y convertirse en el punto
de encuentro entre Europa y América Latina, por ello no sólo 47 de las 218 galerías
son de procedencia latina, sino que, además, el país invitado de esta edición,
Colombia, contará con 100 autores y 20 exposiciones en distintas sedes.
