HILMA AF KLINT, the mother of Abstract Art :

Neither Mondrian, Malevich nor Kandinsky, the abstract art trailblazer was the Swedish woman HILMA AF KLINT. The Picasso museum of Malaga has the most complete temporal exhibition that has been shown so far, it can be seen until the beginning of February 2014.

As many other women throughout history, HILMA AF KLINT was a misunderstood woman of her time. In fact, she didn’t want to show her works until twenty years after her death because she thought that no one would understand them.

HILMA AF KLINT’s work stands out because of her intention of expressing the dualism of the existence: masculine and feminine, darkness and light, material and spiritual.  Her creations are supreme due to the greatness of its composition, delicate symbolism and lively colors.

HILMA AF  KLINT, como tantas mujeres a lo largo de la historia fue una incomprendida de su tiempo. De hecho ella no quiso que sus obras se sacaran a la  luz hasta 20 años después de su fallecimiento,  ya que consideraba que nadie las iba a entender.

La obra de HILMA AF  KLINT destaca por su intención de plasmar la dualidad de la existencia: lo masculino y lo femenino, la oscuridad y la luz, lo material y lo espiritual. Sus creaciones  priman  por su delicado simbolismo, por la composición monumental de sus pinturas y especialmente por su vivo cromatismo.
