Magritee at the MOMA in New York:

The Museum of Modern Art of New York is famous for offering its visitors the most interesting and essential exhibitions of the world. This season the museum holds a worth seeing René Magritte retrospective.

Magritte is a fundamental artist in the history of art of the twentieth century. His iconic and extremely visual style made an impact on all kinds of public. In fact, it can be said that being of the most important surrealist artists he was able to turn Surrealism into something well-known and especially into something understood by the majority of people.

Magritte intended to “challenge the real word” with his work. This intention is reflected in this exhibition which has more than 80 paintings, photographs, collages…in which a new point of view of the Belgian artist’s work is shown.

The retrospective brings together the most private, abstract and surrealistic Magritte’s works, from 1925 until 1938, his most conflictive and creative period.  Probably these works are not the best known; however, they are essential to know such an important artist.

El museo MOMA  de Nueva  York se caracteriza por ofrecer a sus visitantes las exposiciones más interesantes e imprescindibles del mundo. Esta temporada nos ofrece hasta el 12 de enero del 2014 una retrospectiva de Magritte que realmente merece la pena ver.

Magritte es un pintor fundamental  en la historia del arte del siglo XX, su estilo icónico y tremendamente visual consiguió impactar a todo tipo de público. De hecho podríamos decir que siendo uno de los artistas surrealista más importantes consiguió hacer del surrealismo algo cercano y conocido, y sobre todo entendido por la gran mayoría del público.

Magritte con su obra intentaba  “desafiar al mundo real”, intención que vemos reflejada en esta exposición que cuenta con más de 80 pinturas, fotografías, collages… en los que se ofrece una nueva visión  de la obra del artista belga.

La retrospectiva recoge las piezas más íntimas, abstractas y surreales  de Magritte desde 1925 hasta 1938 su época más prolífica y creativa. Piezas que a lo mejor no son tan conocidas, pero fundamentales para  conocer a tan importante creador.
