This year couldn’t have been better for P.S. Besitos. Our clutches keep spreading across the world thanks to all the stores that have bet on them.

One of our new points of sale is the shop MON AMOUR in the city of León. A very special place located in the heart of the city in Calle Villabenavente, 2.

The shop is a space full of color and optimism. Since the very beginning, the store has bet on the work of young and independent designers, paying special attention to high quality and original design handmade products.

MON AMOUR is also very well-known in León for its famous creative workshops in which they invite their participants to let imagination run free with interesting classes such as: bonbon chocolate, washi tape with kids, cake pops, bookbinding…

P.S. Besitos couldn’t miss in such a special and charming shop.

Para  P.S. Besitos este año no ha podido ir mejor, el número de tiendas que han apostado  por nuestros  clutchs continua imparable por todo el mundo.

Una de nuestras últimas incorporaciones es  la tienda MON AMOUR de León. Un lugar muy especial situado en el centro de la ciudad, en la calle Villabenavente, 2. 

Un espacio lleno de color y optimismo que desde su creación  ha apostado por los diseñadores jóvenes e independientes, dando una especial atención al  “hand made” de alta calidad y diseño original.

MON AMOUR es también muy conocida en León por sus famosos talleres creativos en los que se pretende dejar volar la imaginación de sus participantes  con cursos tan interesantes como: Taller de bombones de chocolate, taller de washi tapes para niños, de cake pops…..

Otro de esas tiendas tan especiales y llenas de encanto en la que P.S. Besitos no podía faltar.

Camille Claudel, the movie:

“Camille Claudel, 1915” releases this weekend, this is the latest film by the French director Bruno Dumont.  A film starring Juliette Binoche, who according to the critics, reaches the peak of her performance.

The movie focuses on one part of the cursed sculptor’s life, the early months of her placement in a health institution due to a persecution complex related to her lover and master, Auguste Rodin.

The film is not an easy experience; actually, it could be thought to be a tragedy that digs into madness, hopelessness and the pain of abandonment. However, all things considered it is a highly recommended movie; any film fan would call it a “masterpiece”. Moreover, this is a unique chance to watch quality cinema, specially having such a weak movie season.

Another reason to strongly recommend this movie is its appealing to think about the fact that women have been kept quiet and underestimated in the history of art, which is the real storyline of the movie.

Este fin de semana se estrena  la película “Camille Claudel, 1915”, dirigida por el director francés Bruno Dumont y protagonizada por  Juliette Binoche, que según la crítica en este largo está en un absoluto estado de gracia.

La película se centra en un episodio de la vida de esta escultora maldita, los primeros meses de su internamiento en una institución mental, por culpa de una  manía persecutoria relacionada con su amante y maestro, el  afamado Auguste Rodin.

La película no es una experiencia fácil, realmente se puede considerar una tragedia que ahonda en la locura, la desesperación  y el dolor del abandono. Esto no quita para que sea altamente recomendable, cualquier cinéfilo la va a calificar de “obra maestra”, al tiempo que es una oportunidad única para poder ver cine de calidad, especialmente en esta temporada tan escasa en buenas propuestas cinematográficas.

Otro motivo por el que la recomendamos vivamente es porque nos invita a reflexionar sobre el hecho de cómo las mujeres han sido silenciadas y menospreciadas en la historia del arte, verdadera trama argumental de esta película tan dura y bella a la vez.

JANE AUSTEN IS IN FASHION!

Jane Austen is one of the essential writers to P.S. Besitos.

There is no doubt that, after Shakespeare, Jane Austen is one of the most important and influential writer of all times.

Her stories are more alive than ever thanks to the film adaptations of Sense and Sensibility, Emma, Pride and Prejudice, among others.

The author’s persistence has become evident when “The Austen Project” was entrusted to six famous writers by the publishing house Harper Collins. This request was to rewrite six Jane Austen’s novels adapting them to the modern world.  The novel “Sense and Sensibility” by the writer Joanna Trollope has been recently published. One may agree or not with these adaptations but it is undeniable that the stories of our dear Austen are everlasting and timeless.

However, Jane Austen’s persistence does not end here, not long ago we found out that the author’s face will appear on new £10 banknote. Very few female faces have had such an honor.

What else can be expected? As we have already said, it is undeniable that Jane Austen is in fashion.

Para P.S. Besitos Jean Austen es una de nuestras escritoras fundamentales.

Sin lugar a dudas podemos decir que después de  Shakespeare Jane Austen es  la escritora británica más importante e influyente de todos los tiempos.

Sus historias están más vivas que nunca gracias a las adaptaciones al cine de  Sentido y Sensibilidad, Emma u Orgullo y Prejuicio, entre otras.

Esta vigencia  de la autora  se ha puesto recientemente de manifiesto cuando la editorial Harper Collins  encargó a  seis escritores famosos “The Austen Project”, una petición que consistía en reescribir seis novelas de la escritora británica pero adaptadas al mundo contemporáneo. Recientemente se ha publicado la primera, “Sentido y Sensibilidad” de la escritora Joanna Trollope. Podemos estar o no de acuerdo con estas adaptaciones, lo que es innegable es que las historias de nuestra querida Austen, son eternas y atemporales.

Pero esta vigencia de Jane Austen no para aquí, hace poco nos hemos enterado de que el rostro de la autora aparecerá en los nuevos billetes de 10 Libras. Muy pocos rostros femeninos han tenido semejante honor.

¿Qué más se puede pedir?, lo dicho, es innegable que Jane Austen está de moda.
